Eclipse trip

So the trip was splendid. We took a flight out of Arizona, to Colorado, and finally to Montana. From there, we made our way to a quiet resort town nestled close to Glacier National Park called Whitefish. Ironically, they had only ONE seafood place...In Whitefish we stayed in what was essentially a cleaned up tool shed, cleaned up very nice lly mind you, in the backyard of a family friend. The change in environment was so Stark it was almost dizzying. The whole time we were there the locals complained of the heat but the moisture and wind made their 90 feel like a breezy 70 here in the dust. Trees and farms lined every road so much that if you turned your head it was pretty much a goddamn post card where you were looking.

After one night, we made our way down to Idaho near Du Bois. There, we parked in a well stocked truck stop out of necessity (hell like three million people were traveling across the US to get a glimpse of the eclipse). They were well prepared with volunteer staff slinging drinking and microwave burritos, truly an American sight. In the dusty lot behind the building amongst the idling semis and other sun watchers, the glory of the moon doing shadow puppets astounded us. The temp dropped something like 20 degrees at the Apex of the coverage with more than a few stars peeking through what was akin to the night sky. It only lasted a minute or two but the effect was pretty magnificent. It was funny though as people raced away as soon as the totality was finished, I guess the coming of the sun isn't as cool as it's going.

From there, it was back to Montana to explore the woods, a national park, more than a couple of lakes, and some pretty interesting night life. Glacier was gigantic and beautiful. Almost an hour just driving up the mountain culminating in a quiet trail across wooden platforms along the 'Walk of the Cedars' path. Here and there amongst the trees were deep cuts in the rock with glacier water roaring through. I've never seen water so blue. It was nearly neon at points! Heading back down the mountain, we took little rests at various creeks and streams to marvel at one of the largest bodies of glacier water in the US.

Speaking of large bodies of water, we then took a relaxing Cruise in the second largest body of fresh water in the US to gawk at homes ranging between 4 and 10 million dollars...it was outrageous. More than a handful of houses along the rocky coast had lifts down to private docks so that you didn't have to walk in the dirt before getting to the lake. Plus, the cruise was something like 4x American as we saw four different bald eagles just chilling in the trees.

The water adventures continued in kayaks, on floating barges and piers back in Whitefish. It was pretty odd to see such a small town in Montana have such a nice beach! I never really equate the two but there you go. It was such a fun time in the water and such a departure of the dry as bones climate here. Even me writing this while wiggling my hips in my pool doesn't compare.

The night life was interesting. It seemed like everyone knew everyone else with hugs and 'how have you been's being thrown around like candy. For some perspective, Montana only has a population of close to a million. Tucson has over a million. While exploring one of the bars that the former founder of Google invested in, we were privy to an incredible bluegrass band by the name of The Kitchen Dwellers. They killed it. With songs ranging from stories about murder, Raspberry Beret, some modern country, and a song that featured the opening riff of the Jurassic Park theme song, we were on our toes the whole time. The party scene there is very different than here with the multitude of people there being almost as white as the driven snow. Let's just say they danced how think a room full of drunk white people would dance. What was off was how wasted people got so early. We got there around 11pm and already people were stumbling and falling over.

All in all it was a pretty nice trip. I'd give it an 8/10 just because being with certain members of family always brings some stress. I'll post some pics to my imgur soon if you interested, but I don't think you will be. Took some insta quality pictures of my feet doing shit like those dumb white girl photos you see (no hearts in the sand I'm afraid).

Well, thanks for making it this far even if it's just me rereading this one day for posterity.

What a weird subset of dreams

First talking to her but now she's some weird nihlist about a kid brother I don't have. A massive game of hide and go seek with arrows then my mom whispering about why I didn't tell her princess Diana felt about her... So goddamn specific.
